House Concerts are the best

Sunday night saw us in the Blue Mountains for a house concert. A fabulous setting, an absolutely gorgeous house surrounded by trees, and a lovely bunch of people for the afternoon.

The idea is that the host publicises the concert locally, limits the numbers according to the size of the room, and usually puts on some sort of afternoon tea (in this case, magnificent scones).  The performers play in an informal setting which allows for great interactions and a true "right there in the lounge-room" experience for the audience.

There's a growing house-concert movement in the USA and across Canada and we'd love to see this model develop here.

Where we spent the evenings

We've just finished another festival with the annual trip to Canberra.

Here's a tour of the session bar at the National (the Australian National Folk Festival in Canberra).  A typical all-and-sundry evening.

But there is of course, editing videos

Here's the last part.

It's not all editing videos....

An email just arrived -

Following on from our visit to the USA, our live album, Clouds on the Road, has been receiving some airplay over that side of the Pacific.  We've made it to the folk dj network's list of "TOP ALBUMS AND SONGS OF MARCH 2009", with The Ballad of the Shape of Things and The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face getting particular attention.  It's nice to get good news through the inbox.
