What we're planning in Memphis

In three weeks time, we'll be in Memphis for the Folk Alliance Conference.  As well as showcasing, we'll be running our own showcase room, along with David Ferrard from Edinburgh.  The International Showcase Room will be presenting acts from around the world, as well as a few selected US performers.  We'll be playing ourselves every night at 11.

It's shaping up to be a very full week - here's a few of the acts that will be along for the fun:

and many more.

So, if you happen along to Memphis, come and join the party

(But first, we've got next week's final fundraiser at the Museum).

The journey continues.

And then we sang in the pool....

We taught a singing class last week as part of the Celtic Southern Cross Summer School. It was a real treat, with a class full of enthusiastic and talented voices.

It was a warm week in central Victoria and so we finished off the workshop sessions with one last sing in the pool.  Here's a typical trad singing session from Australia.

A joy-filled new year

Happy new year to all our faithful readers.

cloudstreet spent the turn of the year at Woodford, with Nic co-ordinating the music for the incredible Fire Event.  There was much partying, little sleep, all-too-rare sessioning and non-stop reconnection with friends.

The photo above was taken just after midnight on the 1st.  (That's us, Sarah and Paul from Sunas and the ever-nimble man-dancer, Davydd MacDonald).

Smiles
